A growing care initiative in Nigeria

A full plate can change a day.

We’re bringing people together to help children and families facing hardship get food, everyday essentials, and a little more breathing room.

Why we're here

It starts with showing up.

There are children and families for whom a meal, school supplies, or a kind hand can make today easier. The Helping Table is being built to connect that need with people ready to help.

Our first focus is food and everyday care for children, including children without parental care. We want every act of help to be thoughtful, respectful, and grounded in what people actually need.

Where we begin

Small acts. Real care.

We are starting with practical needs and building carefully with volunteers and partners.

01 / FOOD

Meals for children

Bringing people and resources together so more children can access nutritious food.

02 / ESSENTIALS

Everyday basics

Helping with items that make daily life easier, from food supplies to simple care essentials.

03 / COMMUNITY

People who show up

Connecting caring individuals, local groups, and partners who want to support families well.

How help will move

Care should be clear from start to finish.

Every outreach will follow a simple path so supporters understand the need and recipients are treated with respect.

STEP 01

Listen first

Understand the real need through trusted community contacts and direct conversation.

STEP 02

Confirm carefully

Check what is needed, protect private information, and agree on an appropriate response.

STEP 03

Match support

Connect food, supplies, volunteers, or partners to the confirmed need.

STEP 04

Report responsibly

Share what was delivered without exposing children or turning hardship into content.

Verification stage

First outreach

Verify first. Promise second.

The first outreach is being prepared, but no beneficiary count, fundraising target, location or delivery date will be published until the need is confirmed and privacy risks are checked.

What must be confirmed before launch

01 / NeedWhat support is genuinely required
02 / SafetyConsent, privacy and child-safeguarding checks
03 / BudgetItem list, vendor quotes and delivery costs
04 / PlanResponsible delivery and reporting method

No invented impact figures: this section will be updated only when there is evidence that can be shared without exposing the people receiving help.

A simple way to begin

Build a care box.

Choose the food or essentials you may be able to provide. We’ll turn your selection into a ready-to-send WhatsApp message so we can coordinate before you buy or deliver anything.

Make it a Care Circle

Invite a few friends, colleagues, or neighbours to each contribute one useful item. Small contributions become a fuller box together.

What could you contribute?

Select as many as you like. No payment is taken on this website.

Choose one or more items to create your message.

We will confirm what is currently needed before arranging collection or delivery.

Trust before scale

Dignity is part of the help.

Popular charities earn confidence by showing how help works, protecting the people they serve, and reporting results. These are the standards The Helping Table is committing to as it grows.

Child safeguarding

Children’s safety comes before publicity. No identifying story or image should be shared without appropriate consent and a clear reason.

Needs before content

Support will be based on what people actually need—not on creating dramatic photographs or social media moments.

A visible help trail

Completed activities should be recorded with useful updates, while protecting names, locations, and other sensitive details.

Responsible funding

Donations received through the authorized temporary account should be recorded, acknowledged, and included in future activity reports. A dedicated organization account will replace it when ready.

Have a safeguarding or conduct concern? Email emmanueloladele.oluwasola@gmail.com. Please do not include a child’s sensitive information in a public message.

Quick answers

Good questions deserve clear answers.

Can I donate money now?

Yes. Use the authorized temporary account shown in the donation section, verify that your bank displays Amara-Star Global, and send the receipt through WhatsApp for acknowledgement.

Why is the account name different?

The Helping Table does not yet have a dedicated organization account. Amara-Star Global is temporarily authorized to receive and record donations for the initiative, and this arrangement is disclosed so donors can make an informed choice.

Is The Helping Table registered?

Its CAC Incorporated Trustees application is in progress, but approval has not yet been claimed. The final registered name, certificate and trustee information will be published only after official confirmation.

Who is responsible for the initiative?

Emmanuel Oladele is the Founder and Community Coordinator during this early stage. Additional trustees and an independent spending reviewer will be disclosed when formally appointed.

How will donations be tracked?

Each confirmed donation should be entered in a private ledger with its date, reference, amount and acknowledgement. Future public reports will show aggregated totals and spending without exposing private donor information.

Can I donate food or supplies?

Yes. Use the Care Box tool or contact us first so we can confirm what is needed and arrange a safe handover.

How will children’s privacy be protected?

Personal details should stay private. Any future story or image involving a child must follow safeguarding, consent and dignity standards.

Public commitments

Policies people can understand.

These early-stage policies explain how information, donations, children’s safety and complaints should be handled as The Helping Table develops.

Temporary receiving account

The published Amara-Star Global account is temporarily authorized to receive donations for The Helping Table while a dedicated organization account is being prepared. Donors should verify the recipient name before every transfer.

How unrestricted donations may be used

Changed or cancelled activities

If a stated project cannot proceed as planned, supporters should be informed and the next responsible use of any affected funds should be explained before reallocation.

Child safeguarding policy

Safety before publicity

  • Children must be treated with dignity and never pressured to perform gratitude or distress for content.
  • Identifying stories, images or recordings require an appropriate reason and informed consent from a parent, guardian or responsible institution.
  • Volunteers should not arrange unsupervised private contact with a child through the initiative.
  • Only the minimum information needed to provide safe support should be collected.

Images and stories

Whenever possible, reports should use aggregated information, non-identifying images or photographs of supplies rather than identifiable children. Consent can be withdrawn for future use.

  • For the current temporary account, your banking app must display AMARA-STAR GLOBAL.
  • Use only the telephone number and email address published on this website.
